Alex Rimmele

MPH, BS, E-RYT 200, YOGA SCULPT CERTIFIED

If you were to ask me, ‘Who are you, Alex?  Tell me about yourself..,’ a few years back, I might’ve shrugged my shoulders and modestly responded, ‘Wow, I’m not sure.  I’m just a ‘Regular Person.’

That tune has changed quite a bit recently, as I’ve grown older, wiser, and perhaps more comfortable in my own skin.  I’m proud of who I am, present, in this moment.

These days I would gladly declare that I am the mother of three amazing and energetic young boys.  I am a dedicated and dutiful wife, daughter, sister, and loyal friend to many.  I am an avid runner, I love to cook, listen to any kind of music (sorry Country fans, that might be the exception!) travel and spend time outdoors, dialed into nature.  I don’t take myself too seriously.  My favorite medicine:  laughter.

Most proudly, many years ago I reluctantly tried yoga at the urging of a friend “to just cross-train for running”.  After experiencing the work out of a life time, I was hooked.  Wanting to solidify the deal and teach this wonderful practice to others, I completed Yoga Sculpt Training, followed by 200-hour topped off with 300-hour yoga teacher training that is registered with Yoga Alliance.  I whole-heartedly believe in the mental and physical benefits of yoga for all people, all ages.

Alex Rimmele, MPH, BS, E-RYT 200, Yoga Sculpt Certified is a registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance.  She earned a Master of Public Health degree at Roosevelt University and a bachelor degree at Loyola University.  Along with pioneering the ‘Girlfriends Guide To Wellness,’ Alex currently works at CorePower Yoga and Yoga By Degrees, Chicago.

Jill Chmielewski

MJ, BSN, HHC, RN

I graduated from college weighing nearly forty pounds heavier than when I entered into my freshman year.  Like many of my peers, I had spent four years flooding my precious body with empty calorie dorm food, late night snacking, excessive drinking, lack of sleep and little to no exercise.  I felt terrible in my body, and after graduation, my symptoms continued to worsen while working as a night shift nurse in my first job.  I went to see my doctor, and I was ultimately diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). There wasn’t a whole lot of information about IBS at the time, but my doctor offered some basic advice:  “Eat better food, reduce your stress, exercise more, and get more sleep.”

I took my doctor’s advice seriously, and I began to eliminate food triggers, increased my exercise, upped my water intake, tried to consistently get adequate sleep, and made my health a priority, and little by little, my symptoms disappeared……and my waistline did too!

One husband, four kids and ten years later, I found myself back at the beginning, only this time, it was my family that was suffering. Between asthma and allergies, autoimmune disease, lactose intolerance, and gluten sensitivity, I became a “Mom on a Mission” with a passion to improve the health of my family. By incorporating simple, healthy food and lifestyle changes, my family has made HUGE strides toward better health.

Oftentimes,  we don’t think about our health until we get sick.  We ignore the little signs that our body gives us, until one day, when at last our body surrenders. Whether it be in the form of a few extra pounds, digestive issues, an autoimmune diagnosis, type 2 diabetes, or an unexpected heart attack, our body has a way of getting our attention, and by that time, it may be much harder to regain our health.

I am passionate about teaching busy women to understand their extraordinary bodies, and how to nourish their bodies so that they can feel their absolute best body, mind and soul. Our bodies make no mistakes.  Fatigue, headaches, bloating, cravings, weight gain, gut issues and irritability are our body’s way of signaling that there may be a much deeper imbalance.  I love to help other women to tune into those little biological taps on their shoulder and to make small, simple changes toward better health.

Jill earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a Master of Jurisprudence (MJ) from Loyola University-School of Law, and graduated from the Holistic Health Coaching program at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, the world’s largest nutrition school.  There, she studied over 100 different dietary theories and learned a variety of practical, healthy lifestyle coaching methods.  She has been a registered nurse (RN) for over 20 years and is a member of the American Holistic Nurses Association (AHNA) and the International Association for Health Coaches (IAHC).  Jill is an exercise enthusiast and a happily married mom of four teenage children.  She loves to share her passion for healthy living with busy women who live demanding lives.
